paper positions vienna focused on art with and on paper at the Kursalon in the heart of Vienna from 21 - 24 November 2024. The exhibited works from contemporary and modern art all have one thing in common: they deal with the material paper - in every imaginable form!
It encourages experimentation. It creates a barrier-free approach, not only for artists, but also for those who want to buy their first or tenth work of art. For these reasons, paper is at the heart of our art fair concept, becoming the playground of artistic expression across all positions. The exhibited artists sew into the paper, draw fine pencil lines, print it, sculpture it, tear, collage, photograph, deconstruct, reconstruct - they explore the hidden structures of the paper in any thinkable way and always find surprising new sides of it.
Visitors are offered an overview of the special nature of the medium of paper. The selected galleries and their artists can show themselves and paper from all sides. The paper positions are characterized by the idea of an art salon in the form of a fair: The absence of traditional booths creates the atmosphere of a large, bright and airy group exhibition. This provides the opportunity to perceive, discover and rediscover the artistic positions in dialog and to exchange ideas directly about what has been seen.
After its successful premiere, paper positions vienna will take place again in Vienna in November 2025.
