paper positions berlin 2026

In its tenth edition, paper positions berlin presents 70 international galleries with outstanding positions in contemporary and modern art, focusing on drawing and the material paper.

From 30 April - 3 May 2026, paper positions berlin will take place once again in the impressive main hall of the iconic Berlin-Tempelhof Airport, spanning over 2,500 square metres — held in parallel with the Gallery Weekend in Berlin.

The move into the main hall of Tempelhof Airport marks a significant milestone in the development of paper positions berlin and reflects its growing relevance within the art fair landscape. The new venue not only allows for a more intense engagement with the material of paper, but also highlights the fair’s distinctive concept: instead of traditional booths, paper positions berlin embraces the idea of a curated art salon.

Within the German-speaking region, paper positions berlin is the only art fair where galleries showcase a wide spectrum of high-quality works from contemporary and modern art, as well as the 19th century — offering collectors and visitors a focused and in-depth insight into this unique artistic medium. → more

The Berlin art fair Paper Positions demonstrates just how much energy lies within this seemingly light medium. [...] Celebrating its tenth anniversary this year, the fair has established itself as a staple of the Berlin spring art season. [...]

Ample space, abundant light, no rigid routing—more of an open structure than a traditional trade fair layout. [...] This year’s edition of Paper Positions proves once again that it is entirely capable of creating contrasts. It is the material itself that holds everything together. And perhaps that is exactly what has made the fair so resilient after ten years: the fact that it concentrates on a seemingly small format—and within it, finds enough room for truly grand pictures.
