paper positions berlin

From 1 - 4 May 2025, parallel to the Berlin Gallery Weekend, paper positions berlin presented 65 international galleries from 18 countries with their outstanding positions from contemporary and modern art with a focus on drawing and the material paper.

The ninth edition of paper positions berlin took place in the impressive, over 2,500-square-meter main hall of the iconic Berlin Tempelhof Airport for the first time - a change driven by the growing interest in the fair and the increasing number of international galleries.

The move to the main hall of Tempelhof Airport highlights the growth and increasing relevance of paper positions berlin within the art scene, enabling an even more immersive experience with the medium of paper. Characteristic of paper positions is the absence of traditional booths in favor of a curated art salon approach. The larger space and open structure of the new venue allows galleries more freedom and opportunities to present their paper art positions in a multifaceted and impactful way.

paper positions berlin is the only art fair in the German-speaking region where participating galleries showcase a wide range of high-quality contemporary, modern, and 19th-century art, providing collectors and visitors with a concentrated insight into this special artistic medium.

With ceramic positions, we are placing a new artistic material at the center of attention for the first time – ceramics! The curated special exhibition presents selected artistic perspectives on this medium and creates a striking dialogue with the main section of the fair.
