a look back

With over 16,000 visitors once again, paper positions berlin and the participating galleries can draw an absolute positive conclusion from the eighth edition of the fair.

This year, 60 galleries from 11 countries presented more than 150 artistic positions and 3 awards were presented. The four days were characterised by positive reports from gallery owners and visitors. They all spoke enthusiastically about the great, open and familiar atmosphere, about how many new contacts they were able to make over the fair days and how many young collectors in particular made purchases. The participating exhibitors reported about a very successful fair participation and exceptionally good sales. Most of these were sales to new contacts that the gallerists established at the fair. Even during the VIP preview, numerous gallery owners were pleased to report sales to private collections and international institutions.

Exhibitors were able to report very good sales, and many galleries were almost completely sold out by the end of the fair. We are also very delighted that our opening on Thursday was better attended than ever before!

One other highlight of this year's paper positions berlin was the sell-out of our first Tote Bag edition x Ruohan Wang. paper positions berlin 2024 has shown that interest in the fair and its paper focus continues to grow, that more and more people are coming to visit and also buy - the fair was a great success overall.

the art fair

From 25 – 28 april 2024, parallel to the Berlin Gallery Weekend, the eighth edition of paper positions berlin presents 60 international galleries from 11 countries. Their more than 150 positions in contemporary and modern art all have one thing in common: they all focus on drawing and the material of paper.

The medium of paper encourages experimentation and the realization of ideas while minimizing the risk of huge material costs. It creates a barrier-free approach, not only for artists but also for those who want to buy their first or tenth work of art. For these reasons, paper is at the heart of our art fair concept, becoming the playground of artistic expression across all positions.

Visitors to our fair gain insight into the unique qualities of paper as a medium. The paper and the artists can show themselves from all sides. Departing from traditional booth setups, paper positions adopt the ambiance of an art salon within the framework of an art fair, creating the atmosphere of a large, bright, and airy paper-themed group show. This format gives the opportunity to perceive, discover, and rediscover the artistic positions in dialog and to exchange thoughts directly on what has been seen.

"High-quality, flooded with light, affordable for average earners, and indeed imbued with a warm atmosphere: the 'Paper Positions,' spring offshoot of the Berlin art fair 'Positions Berlin' and with appearances in five European cities, ranks among the more cheerful art fairs."
